Goodwill Meditation Group, East Sussex

Change is inevitable. It happens so slowly. It can easily be overlooked. The temptation of now is to become identified with the problems that beset us personally, nationally and internationally. These current calamities that challenge humanity invite us to give up and sink into a gloomy negativity. This foggy climate of unhelpful thought forms cloud our judgement and keep us separate from the wonder and awesome potential of LIfe that surrounds us. A spiritual discipline cultivates a worldview that can reveal our place within this web of life. With this recognition comes a commitment to make a difference. The change being a life lived in harmony with nature, a life lived with meaning and purpose.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
(Margaret Mead - Anthropologist)

A Point for Reflection

Society is God's gift to humanity!

It is common knowledge that prayer and meditation can condition an environment for the good and this is based on scientific experiment. "For a certain number of days, some years ago, a group of people made a circle around the city of Washington and meditated continuously for the period. Gathered unknown to itself within this circle of loving kindness, Washington changed. The statistics for that period in the city showed a remarkable and unprecedented decrease in violence and crime. The power of intention to bless is not some utopian fantasy; it can be shown factually to effect concrete and transformative action." - (John O'Donohue Benedictus - A Book of Blessings)

The Sundial House Group and (The International) Group for Creative Meditation (www.creativegroupmeditation.org) is a non-political, non-religious and not for profit association based in Sedlescombe, East Sussex. The towns of Battle, Hastings and Bexhill-on-Sea are close by. Neighbouring towns of Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and Edenbridge, Kent are also within easy reach. The Centre is easily accessible for those wishing to take part in the monthly Goodwill Meditations meetings. These meetings last for an hour and a half and follow the usual format of half an hour of reflective consideration on the previous month's work; some time given to working with a current chosen theme and completing with a half hour meditation.

The Sundial House Group is a member of The Hastings & District Inter Faith Forum and an associate of The Wrekin Trust- info@wrekintrust.org.
